Air Force founded in 1947

I know something like splitting the Army Air Corps from the Army and creating the Air Force doesn’t happen overnight…but funny how it’s the year 1947….I am sure it’s a coincidence but it has to be easier to keep information compartmentalized when suddenly your on the ground floor of a brand new organization. Seems convenient…..
