Why does skinwalker ranch come up all the time from credible people in the community?

The whole idea of aliens visiting this planet is completely plausible. Fermi asked the famous question where are they all. The science we have today allows possible ways of interstellar travel faster than it takes light going from point to point either by warp drives or wormholes. Everyone agrees there is surely life in the universe besides us. But then what the hell is this skinwalker ranch stuff and why does it come up in serious discussion about the topic? The most trustworthy reporting IMO is from Ross coulthart and he has a chapter of it his book about it. Admiral Gallaudet mentions it in his interview with Matt ford. Knapp has docos on it. It seems bat shit crazy to me. There’s only anecdotal stories about it from a few people, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever from our understanding of physics, it’s not in the same ball park as the UAP phenomena and frankly it does a disservice to the UAP subject by discussing them together. It gets raised though from people who I wouldn’t expect to give much if any credence to the narrative. Am I missing something?
